Cancellation Policy

SriLankan Airlines has a 24 hours cancellation policy, this allows passengers to cancel their ticket for free within 24 hours of booking it. In addition, this cancellation can be done provided that the departure is at least 72 hours from the time of booking.  Moreover, this policy is flexible and very convenient. Passengers can cancel bookings made on the airline’s website. All passengers need to do is enter their last name and booking reference. Most importantly, a different refund form is available for this 24 hour cancellation policy. If passengers submit a normal refund request form, they will be unable to use the 24 hour cancellation policy and standard refund penalties will be applied. 

In case the flight is cancelled by SriLankan airlines or there is a delay which causes the passenger to miss their connecting flight, then the airline will provide either of the following provisions:

 

Refund Policy

SriLankan Airlines provides a refund of the ticket under circumstances where the passenger has been denied boarding due to the cancellation of a flight or due to a delay resulting in the passenger missing a connecting flight. In addition, if the ticket is unused then the fare paid will be refunded. However, cancellation fee or service fee is applicable. Moreover passengers who want a refund of the ticket tickets will get a refund of the fare according to the tariff. Refunds will be provided to the person named on the ticket, or to the person who paid for the ticket. Lastly, the refund will be processed in the same currency as it was paid in.

3. Can I change the date or route on my ticket instead of requesting a refund?

Yes, you can. To do the same please visit the website and go to the ‘Manage booking’ section. You can do this up to 5 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the flight. The 1st change will not be subjected to any penalties.

 

4. What is the difference between a cancellation fee and a no-show fee?

No-show fee refers to when the passenger fails to show up for their scheduled travel and also does not request for a ticket refund/cancellation.
