Carry-on Baggage 

Kenya Airways permits passengers to carry baggage in the cabin with them. Moreover, business class passengers can carry two pieces of hand baggage. This can weigh 18kgs with 55 x 25 x 35cm dimensions. Furthermore, economy class passengers can carry one piece of hand baggage. This can weigh a maximum of 12kgs with 55 x 25 x 35cm dimensions. In addition to this, all passengers can also carry a personal item. This item may be a handbag, backpack, briefcase, camera, laptop, or duty-free shopping bag. Lastly, the baggage allowance for infants older than two years is one hand luggage maximum of 12kg.

Excess Baggage

If passengers' baggage exceeds the allowance, they can prepay for excess baggage or buy the excess baggage at the airport. Refer below to the tables for the excess baggage fee applicable-

Lastly, if passengers purchase excess baggage and their baggage is heavy, an extra bag + heavy bag fee is applicable.

Prohibited items

Passengers cannot carry the following items in the cabin or hold the aircraft:

1. Explosives, munitions, fireworks, and flares
2. Security-type cases/boxes incorporating goods such as lithium batteries or pyrotechnics
3. Compressed gases (flammable, non-flammable, or poisonous) 
4. Oxidizing substances such as bleaching powder and peroxides
5. Flammable liquids such as paints and adhesives
6. Disabling devices such as mace or pepper sprays with irritant properties
7. Poisons such as arsenic, cyanides, or insecticides
8. Radioactive materials
9. Corrosive materials such as mercury,  acids, alkalis, and wet-cell batteries
10. Any other substances which present a danger not covered above, such as magnetized, offensive, or irritating materials
11. Lighters (butane, absorbed fuel, electric, battery-powered, and novelty lighters)
