Cancellation Policy
The airline permits passengers to cancel a booking. However, this may depend on the fare type of the ticket passenger books, as some conditions attached to the ticket may not allow passengers to cancel their ticket. Moreover, service fee or cancellation fee is also applicable. Furthermore, the airline also has a 24 hour cancellation policy. Therefore, passengers can cancel their ticket within 24 hours of booking it and obtain a full refund.
Upon cancellation of the flight by Azores Airlines the airline will of course inform the passengers. It will also provide services like free meals, refreshments, accommodation, phone calls, etc. Moreover, the passenger can choose from either of the following:
- Rerouting at earliest opportunity
- Rerouting at a later date
- Refund within 7 days (full ticket – unused portions)
Refund Policy
Passengers can get a refund of a ticket that they possess, the reimbursement value will depend on the tariff conditions attached to the ticket. It is also possible that certain conditions attached to the ticket might prevent the passenger from cancelling the booking. Also if the ticket is completely unused then the refund is equal to the fare paid. On the other hand, if the ticket is used then refund is equal to the difference between fare paid and fare applicable for transportation/services used. Moreover, a fee may be applied upon cancellation of booking.
In addition to this, the passenger needs to submit valid photo identification of the passenger names on the ticket to get a refund. Also if the booking is done through a travel agent then the passenger needs to contact them to apply for a refund. Furthermore, the airline will refund the ticket to the person who is named on the ticket or whoever paid for the ticket, provided that satisfactory proof of payment is given. Most importantly, the refund is given in the form of Azores Airlines voucher that the passenger can use for flight or optional extras.
