Baggage Allowance

Elite members can use their privilege and can get a higher checked baggage allowance.

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers can carry one item of carry-on baggage, as per included in the price of their ticket. The baggage dimensions should not exceed 22 x 14 x 9 inches in size and 7kg in weight. For convenience, an instrument to measure the baggage is made available at check-in counters as well as the boarding gate. Lastly, Business class passengers can carry extra baggage.

Checked Baggage

Economy class passengers can carry 2 bags,  23 kg weight each. Premium economy class passengers can also carry 2 bags, 28 kg weight each. And Business class passengers can carry 2 bags, 32 kg weight each. Special Baggage

• Cabin baggage – passengers can book a seat to transport their cabin baggage. This includes delicate and valuable instruments, objects, statues, etc. For necessary arrangement, passengers need to directly contact China Airlines reservations office. This should be done at least 48 hours before the flight and confirmation needs to be received beforehand itself. Most importantly, the cabin baggage must comply with the carry-on baggage weight and measurement specifications. 
• Sports equipment – The equipment is subject to checked baggage if it complies with the checked baggage weight and measurement allowance. If it exceeds the allowance, then standard and excess piece charges apply. 
• Music instruments – Passengers can carry small instruments as carry baggage. However they should not exceed measurements of 100 x 36 x 23cm and 7kg weight.
